Cherry Blossom At University of Washington | Seattle, WA.
—
It was a chilly winter morning, it’s the weekend where it should be the peak of the bloom, even though I have shot the cherry blossom at the same location so so so many times already, I still can’t resist to go. Actually, photographing the blossoms it self is not the motivation, but to be there to enjoy and admire the ever so beautiful blossoms is.
It’s a weekend, and it is the peak of the blossoms, it’s suppose to be sunny, so I know there will be a lot of people there. So I decided to leave early to beat the crowd. I got there around 7am, and apparently not early enough. To be fair, it was my fault, I should be there earlier, around 6am or something, and I would have made it if not for me insisting on boiling water and making coffee, and that mistake I make for going to the wrong parking lot that turn out to be the right parking lot, after driving round and around a couple times …. What’s worst is, I think I made the same mistake last time I was here …
Dont do it~~ it’s not worth to hurt the tree for a couple photo or some cheap fun~~
The blossoms did not let down, it was indeed at it’s peak and it was majestic. But I am not in a hurry to shoot, I am here to enjoy the blossoms and the atmosphere first and foremost. So I find a bench, put down my bag, sip on my coffee, and soak up all the beauty. I was in a dreamland, the historical campus filled with blossoms is as dreamy as it could be.
With the campus already sparsely filled with people, I know I am going to shoot up, to avoid people on the ground. So the perspective are mostly above tree level, where you will also find skyline and rooftops. I really like the combination of the three, it’s blending well and emphasize on the sense of history.
Cherry blossoms are not the only beauty on campus, other blossoms are awesome as well, oooo, it rhyme too~~
The magnolias are not shy in showing their beauty at all, they have no problem standing on their own in a sea of cherry blossoms.
When you zoom in on the seas of petals, it’s like you are in an ocean, a flower ocean, where you can easily get lost in.
They are pretty in million, and they are pretty in one.
University of Washington have a lot of charming buildings that stood through the test of time, and I especially love the towers they have, it take me back to the world of Tolkien, it’s not hard to imagine there’s an elf in there scouting the area, with bow and arrow and everything :)
More photos of the blossoms, I don’t need to write much, they are more than capable of telling their own story.
The actual scene below tree-line, lol~ It’s pack with people, there’s people who bring their child, bring their dog, some came to photograph, some came to be photograph, some came as a couple, some came alone, some came in a group, there’s even people who came to exercise!! It’s very crowded, it’s very lively, it’s fantastic~~
No matter how you capture your image, be it your cellphone or your point and click, your mirrorless or your dslr, if you have a photography heart, you are my kind of people, we all enjoy capturing the beauties in our world~~
In a world of beauty, you will find peace and happiness in whatever you do, let out all the worldly worries and complication, let the mind be quiet for a while, simply enjoy the serenity and beauty of the blossoms.
Right after I pack up all my gears, it started raining, with the sun still bright and sunny. It make for some interesting composition, so I took out my camera once more, and shot a couple more pictures.
If you love the rain as much as I do, you are my kind of people~~ But I think all kids love rain, just at some point of our growing up, some of us somehow decide to not like it anymore.
I didn’t stay too long after the rain came, I should, there were definitely creativity to explore that could yield some interesting composition, but I didn’t, I blame my laziness …. Oh well, I have to leave Eden behind at some point, or I will never leave :) And I am sure I will be here again next year~
